LCRP Opposition to Robert Morrow for Texas SBOE District 5
Dear Llano County Republican Voters,
The solid education of our Children is one of our most important responsibilities in life, not only as Republicans, but as Americans. The Texas School System is overseen by the Texas State Board of Education (SBOE). That Board has tremendous power over what text books are used in Texas’ schools and over what our Children learn when they go to school.
Llano County is in SBOE District 5. Ken Mercer was our former District 5 Board Member and he did an excellent job. Ken is a conservative and he fought tirelessly to stop “progressive white-washing” and manipulation of our Children’s curriculum. After many years of tireless service, Ken decided not to run for re-election this year.
There is currently a run-off in the Republican Primary for the District 5 Board Member position between Lani Popp (who is endorsed by Ken Mercer and by all other Republican members on the SBOE) and Robert Morrow.
Your Llano County Republican Party (LCRP) generally does not take a position on various candidates who are running in the Republican Primary. THIS IS THE EXCEPTION! On March 11, 2020, the LCRP’s Executive Committee voted UNANIMOUSLY to OPPOSE ROBERT MORROW in his race against Lani Popp. A copy of the unanimously passed RESOLUTION OPPOSING THE CANDIDACY OF ROBERT MORROW is attached. Please read it.
Also, please GOOGLE Robert Morrow for a litany of the reasons why he should not be representing Llano County on the State Board of Education. Lani Popp is very well-qualified and deserves your vote.
Please share this notice with all other Republicans in Llano County. Be informed when you vote. Our Children’s future depends on it.
