Marvin Gray

Candidate for County Commissioner

Precinct 2 – Llano County

My name is Marvin Gray; my wife Cheryl and I have 4 children and 7 grandchildren. I am a business owner and part time rancher.

I have deep roots in Llano County, my great-grandfathers, “William H Gray” and “John Robert Moss” were ranchers here and both have Texas Ranger markers at their graves; my grandparents and parents were born and raised here; I have enjoyed the hill country all my life.

As a business owner I know the importance of working with a budget, working with and helping customers and working with employees. As a Conservative Republican I will work to keep our property taxes low by opposing unnecessary spending.

It will be my pledge to you to represent Precinct 2 with honesty and integrity and always take time to listen to your concerns. If elected I plan to serve at least two terms and to the best of my ability I will treat everyone in my precinct and their problems equally, regardless of where they live.

I graduated from High School in 1964; graduated from Durham Business School in 1967; certified as computer programmer from Univac Training Institute in 1969; received Accredited Advisor in Insurance from the Insurance Institute of America in 1986 and a Fellow from The Life Insurance Training Council in 1994. I have completed numerous other management, insurance and real estate courses over the years.

I worked at NASA from 1967 until 1973 when I joined Farmers Insurance and started Gray Insurance Agency; I sold my business in 1979 and became a District Manager with Farmers in Houston, I retired 1999 and moved to our property in Tow. My daughter Teresa and I currently own Gray Insurance Agency in Kingsland.
