Notice of 2020 Conventions – POSTPONED

To: All Republican Voters in Llano County

In an effort to combat the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the Center for Disease Control has issued a directive to avoid gatherings of 50 people or more for the next 8 weeks.  Today, March 16, 2020, President Trump has requested that one should avoid gatherings of 10 people or more for this 8 week period.

Based on the foregoing, and in an effort to protect the safety and well-being of Texans, the Republican Party of Texas has POSTPONED the Texas Republican State Convention which was scheduled to take place in Houston May 14-16.  The TENTATIVE NEW DATE for the State Convention is July 13-18, 2020 at the George Brown Convention Center in Houston.  More information will be forthcoming.

Given the CDC’s and President Trump’s directives, and in keeping with Llano County’s Office of Emergency Management’s efforts to protect the citizens of Llano County, as Chairman of the Llano County Republican Party (LCRP), I am hereby POSTPONING the Llano County Republican Party’s March 21, 2020 Precinct and County Conventions.  The LCRP Executive Committee will select a future date, outside of the CDC’s recommended 8 week time frame, and will advise everyone of the new date via the LCRP’s mega email list, on Facebook and on the LCRP’s website.  It is anticipated that the new date will be on a Saturday during the May 23-June 20, 2020 time period.

Let’s all work together to beat this new health threat.  That’s what Texans do!

All my best, Doug Sanders, LCRP-Chairman
